Interested in Becoming a Board Leader?

The Board of the Charleston American Marketing Association is seeking an infusion of new ideas, energy and enthusiasm to lead the organization. We would like to give you the opportunity to deepen your connection with the Charleston AMA and get involved at the leadership level by nominating yourself or another AMA member to be considered for this prestigious board.

We have several positions coming available for the 2009-2010 year. Each board member commits to a one-year term, with the upcoming term starting in July. Our ballot is due at the end of February, so all interested candidates need to speak with us soon.

What is the Charleston AMA Board of Directors?

The board is the governing body that determines and manages the implementation of the strategic goals and objectives for the Charleston chapter of the American Marketing Association.

What kinds of opportunities are available?

We have various positions open in areas such as programming, membership and communications. By joining the team, you have the opportunity to continue to develop many different types of skills from business development to team management to financial analysis.

What is the benefit of volunteering?

What is the time commitment?

• Regular attendance at monthly board meetings (during lunch)

• Professional membership in AMA Charleston
• Belief in Charleston AMA’s goals/objectives and commitment to achieving them
• Belief in the value of membership and commitment to recruit new members
• Willingness to be an engaged and active volunteer
• Commitment to recruit and lead volunteers
• Experience in management showcasing performance and accountability

When will the board position begin?

Elections will be held the first week of March and the new board will take office July 1, 2009.
